Abstract

This study discusses the role of Islamic Education (PAI) teachers in developing students' creativity and innovation in learning. The current issue in education is the lack of encouragement from teachers to motivate students to innovate in the teaching and learning process, as well as the limited exploration and development of student creativity. This situation affects the quality of learning in schools, particularly in religious education, which should inspire students to think critically and creatively. This research uses a qualitative method with a descriptive approach. Data were collected through in-depth interviews with PAI teachers, classroom observations, and learning documentation. The focus of this research is to understand how PAI teachers can play a role in encouraging students to be more creative and innovative in their learning processes, as well as the strategies teachers implement to support the development of this potential. The findings indicate that PAI teachers play a significant role in fostering students' creativity and innovation. Teachers who utilize interactive teaching methods, such as group discussions, collaborative projects, and the use of technology, are more effective in stimulating students' interest in learning. Furthermore, PAI teachers who allow freedom of expression and encourage students to try new things in religious education can create a more dynamic and enjoyable learning environment. Thus, PAI teachers hold a key role in developing students who not only understand religious content but also apply it innovatively and creatively in their daily lives.
