Abstract

Poverty remains a major issue in regional economic development, including in Jambi Province. Poverty levels are influenced by various factors such as the quality of human resources, employment opportunities, and regional economic growth. This study aims to analyze the influence of the Human Development Index (HDI), unemployment, and Gross Regional Domestic Product (GRDP) on the poverty level in Jambi Province from an Islamic economic perspective. This study uses a quantitative approach with a panel data method in districts/cities in Jambi Province for the period 2015–2025. The data analysis technique used is multiple linear regression with classical assumption testing, simultaneous tests, partial tests, and coefficients of determination. The results show that the Human Development Index (HDI) has a negative and significant effect on poverty, while the unemployment rate has a positive and significant effect on poverty. Meanwhile, Gross Regional Domestic Product (GRDP) has a positive but insignificant effect on poverty. Simultaneously, these three variables have a significant effect on the poverty level in Jambi Province. From an Islamic economic perspective, poverty alleviation is not only carried out through increasing economic growth, but also through equitable income distribution, improving the quality of human resources, and implementing the principles of social justice and welfare (falah). This research is expected to be a consideration for local governments in formulating more effective and equitable poverty alleviation policies
