Persepsi Asatidz Pondok Pesantren Darul Hijrah Kabupaten Batang Hari Terhadap Jasa Bank Syariah

Abstract

Islamic banking is a banking system whose operations are based on legal principles referring to Islamic law, guided by the Qur’an and the Sunnah (Hadith). This study aims to examine the perceptions and the factors causing Asatidz of Darul Hijrah Islamic Boarding School in Batang Hari Regency to still not use Islamic banking services. The research employed a descriptive qualitative method. Data were collected through interviews, and the analysis was conducted using a descriptive qualitative approach by elaborating information based on the actual conditions obtained in the field. The results indicate that, overall, the perceptions of the Asatidz of Darul Hijrah Islamic Boarding School in Batang Hari Regency toward Islamic banking services are positive, with appreciation for the efforts of Islamic banks in providing financial services in accordance with Islamic sharia principles. However, limited knowledge and accessibility challenges highlight the importance of further efforts in education and the dissemination of Islamic banking services so that they can be more widely recognized and utilized by the broader community. The factors causing the Asatidz of Darul Hijrah Islamic Boarding School in Batang Hari Regency to have not yet chosen Islamic banking services include the distant location of Islamic banks and limited banking facilities; prior experience and comfort with conventional banking services, which are perceived as fast, efficient, secure, and uncomplicated; as well as the established reputation of conventional banks, which fosters greater trust due to their long-standing experience and proven stability.
